About Eating in Ibiza: the back story

The MICHELIN Guide Spain 2026 gives one star each to three Ibiza restaurants: Unic, at Sant Josep de sa Talaia, and Omakase by Walt and brula in Ibiza Town (MICHELIN Guide Spain 2026 (guide.michelin.com, read 22 October 2026)). Around them is a long list of places in the guide’s selection, from Can Font inside the walls to the fish restaurants of Cala Jondal, Cala Tarida and Cala d’Hort.

The stars

Unic is in Sant Josep de sa Talaia; Omakase by Walt, a Japanese counter, is in the new town; and brula is at the Ibiza Gran Hotel by the marina. Each holds one star in the MICHELIN Guide Spain 2026.

Fish by the sea

The MICHELIN selection includes Jondal on the beach at Cala Jondal, Ca’s Milà on the beach at Cala Tarida and Es Boldado above Cala d’Hort, with Es Vedrà in front of you.

In August, the best tables by the sea are booked weeks ahead.

Island dishes

Look for bullit de peix, a fish stew whose broth goes into the arròs a banda served after it; sofrit pagès, the country dish of meats and potatoes; and flaó, a cheese and mint tart. Hierbas ibicencas, the herb liqueur, has a protected geographical indication made only in Ibiza and Formentera (caib.es).

Booking

Book directly with each restaurant. Many on the beaches close from late October to spring: check before you go.

Our advice: one starred dinner in town, one long fish lunch at Cala d’Hort.
